Fresno County Public Law Library Public Record Act Disclosure Statement

Pursuant to California Government Code §6270.5, the Fresno County Public Law Library discloses that the library uses the following enterprise computer programs:

An integrated library system, EOS.Web, implemented by SirsiDynix, contains information about our books, subscriptions, as well as information about the price of updates and the date items were received. This system also includes patron identity records and circulation information. All patron information in this system is exempt from disclosure under Government Code §§ 6254j and 6267.

Our library also offers Westlaw, an online legal research service implemented by Thompson Reuters Corporation. This program is an internet-based database that provides access to primary and secondary legal materials and an interface for searching through their extensive holdings.

Our library also offers CEB OnLAW, a searchable legal database that provides online access to over 130 of CEB's California practice guides on a wide variety of topics. This product is implemented by Continuing Education of the Bar, a joint venture between the State Bar of California and the Regents of the University of California.

Hein & Co., to library users. This database contains traditional legal materials (reported cases, statutes, government regulations, academic law reviews, commercially produced law journals and magazines, and classic treatises), historical, governmental, and political documents, legislative debates, legislative and executive branch reports, world constitutions, international treaties, and reports and other documents of international organizations.ornia and the Regents of the University of California.

Please note that any information about the patron who used any of these programs it is exempt from disclosure by the following exemptions in the Public Records Act:

  • 1. Library circulation records kept for the purpose of identifying the borrower of items available in the library. Cal. Government Code § 6254(j).

  • 2. Library records that identify a patron, including, but not limited to, a patron’s name, address, telephone number, or e-mail address, that a library patron provides in order to become eligible to borrow or use books and other materials. Cal. Government Code § 6267.
