2014 Fresno County Fruit Trail Season is Now Over

Please note that many of our Fruit Trail stops are open year round with seasonal produce, dried fruit and nuts, and wonderful gift ideas.  We look forward to seeing you on the 2015 Fresno County Fruit Trail.  Also please visit the 2015 Fresno County Blossom Trail traditionally “showing” from late February through March.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or returning “customer,” we welcome you to experience the bounty produced by Fresno County family farmers and enjoy your visit to our rural communities.

Every year in agriculture has its challenges -- some years more so than others. This is one of those years! The ongoing drought, unseasonably warm winter and early spring have had an impact on many of Fresno County crops. Tree fruits, in particular, may be earlier than usual and may have smaller crops, depending on variety. Apricots and cherries may be in shorter supply this year.

Rest assured, our Fruit Trail farmers will still have a great selection of fresh produce available for you to enjoy here or to take home. We will provide updates on the website and Twitter @GoFruitTrail throughout the season, but also recommend that you contact your favorite stand before you plan your trip to make sure you hit the perfect time to buy that special fruit variety you’re looking for.

Although our Fruit Trail farmers work hard to help keep on-farm prices lower than traditional outlets, prices this year may fluctuate, reflecting increased production costs, such as water and energy.

We look forward to your visit to California’s heartland! Our family farmers, Chambers of Commerce, businesses and the County of Fresno welcome you to enjoy your time on the Fresno County Fruit Trail.

This self-guided tour through California's agriculture heartland was created through a partnership between the elected and civic leaders and the farmers in Eastern Fresno County. The Fruit Trail celebrates the beauty, flavor and culture of this region. We invite you to enjoy orchards full of ripe fruit literally bursting with flavor, Nature's best, California Grown, from the Number One agricultural county in the world.
